The newly appointed Commissioner of Police for Taraba State, CP Morkwap Dongshal, has officially taken over the leadership of the State Police Command in Jalingo, becoming the 33rd Commissioner to serve in that capacity.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Victor Mshelizah, who noted that CP Dongshal brings over three decades of extensive policing experience to his new role, alongside a firm dedication to effective law enforcement, public safety, and community-based policing.
According to the statement, his deployment to Taraba State forms part of the broader strategic efforts of the Nigeria Police Force to reinforce security architecture and improve operational efficiency nationwide.
Upon assuming office, CP Dongshal reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
He emphasized the adoption of intelligence-driven policing, proactive crime prevention measures, and enhanced collaboration with other security agencies and community stakeholders as key priorities for maintaining peace and stability.
He also urged residents of Taraba State to support the Police by providing timely and credible information that would aid in combating criminal activities.
The Commissioner assured the public that under his leadership, the Command would consolidate on existing security frameworks while promoting professionalism, discipline, and efficient service delivery in alignment with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police.
CP Dongshal further appealed for the continued cooperation and support of the people of Taraba State as the Command works to sustain a safe and secure environment for all.
