The Nigeria Police Force is set to arraign the Director General of the self-styled Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi, before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday over alleged forgery, impersonation and related offences.

The Director General and two other defendants are facing an eight-count charge filed by the police in suit number FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, bordering on alleged forgery, impersonation and other criminal offences.

The arraignment, earlier scheduled for June 16, was postponed after the principal defendant was reported to be indisposed, prompting Justice Mohammed Umar to adjourn the matter.

Court documents indicate that the prosecution has lined up several witnesses, including the Chief of Staff to the President, officials from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, police officers and other individuals allegedly linked to the activities of the purported agency.

The police also plan to tender documentary evidence, including the investigation report, a petition from the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President, an alleged fake presidential appointment letter, correspondence with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, approvals relating to accounts with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and other official documents.

Investigators alleged that the Director General operated the non-existent agency from the Federal Secretariat Complex, Abuja, before his arrest.

The prosecution further informed the court that additional witnesses may be called during the trial to establish its case.

The case comes amid an ongoing federal investigation into the activities of the purported agency, following a directive by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ordering a comprehensive probe into its operations.

The President had mandated the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to conclude its investigation within 30 days.
