BLACK WEDNESDAY: Tanker Explosion Kills School Children, Over 20 Others Burnt To Death

It was a sorrowful site as school children and over 20 others were sent to the great beyond following an explosion from a tanker in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

Among those burnt to death are school children, traders and pedestrians along Lokoja-Abuja Road.

The casualty figure was reported to be over 20 as the fire spread widely.

Trouble started Wednesday when the tanker driver, conveying petrol product lost control as the truck rammed into a tricycle and oncoming vehicles before going up in flames.

Firefighters and emergency personnel are on the ground rescuing victims.
