Best Graduating Students Offered Automatic Employment, Postgraduate Scholarships

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has announced the appointment of 81 top graduating students from Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU) as lecturers, effective January 1, 2026.

This decision was revealed during the university’s inaugural combined convocation ceremony, attended by prominent dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Governor Zulum, who also serves as the University’s Visitor, emphasized that this initiative represents a strategic investment in the future of the state.

He stated, “I am pleased to announce that I have approved the recruitment of the 81 best graduating students from the 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 graduating classes as lecturers at this university.”

In addition to their employment, the governor confirmed that the graduates will receive support to pursue their postgraduate studies, both nationally and internationally.

The convocation ceremony also featured a significant contribution from the Vice President’s office, which donated two electric buses to the university.

Other distinguished attendees included Governors Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, and a representative from the Kebbi State Governor’s office.

The event was further graced by the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Elkanemi, and philanthropist Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, known for his foundation of education in Nigeria.

In his remarks, KIU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babagana Gutti, expressed heartfelt appreciation to all those who have contributed to the institution’s development.
