The fresh cases were confirmed in 24 states of the country including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), taking the lead.
The new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed on Thursday evening 17th December 2029, through the twitter handle of the agency via a statement on the official Twitter handle of the health agency which represents the country’s daily highest record since the outbreak of the disease.
This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 76, 207 which includes 67, 110 discharged cases and 1, 201 deaths.
Below is the breakdown of the latest cases according to states with Lagos State having the highest number of cases, followed by Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Lagos-459, FCT-145, Kaduna-138, Plateau-80, Katsina-70, Gombe-52, Niger-31, Kano-23, Bayelsa-21, Bauchi-18, Ondo-18, Rivers-17.
Others are Ogun-12, Oyo-12, Edo-8, Nasarawa-8, Ebonyi-7, Osun-6, Ekiti-5, Kebbi-5, Borno-4, Jigawa-3, Akwa- Ibom-2 and Anambra-1.
