… Bemoans Sudden Death Of Majority Leader, Owhefere

The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has condoled the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa over the death of his father.

In his condolence message, the Speaker wrote: “I write to express and convey my heartfelt condolences to Your Excellency the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on the passing unto eternal glory of your beloved father, Chief Arthur Okorie Okowa on Wednesday 27th, January 2021. You could not have imagined this moment. It is painful no matter the age.

“I commiserate with the family, children and the Ika nation on the death of this Iconic figure. Papa  excelled as a teacher’s teacher before retiring from the Teacher’ training College.

“As a teacher, Papa did not only teach the curriculum but also taught his students morals, civics, hardwork and value for self esteem.

“I remember with nostalgia Papa immense contributions to the development of the teaching profession as First Member, Post-Primary Education Board under the administration of the late Olorogun Felix Ibru.

“Papa was a father of all  that came in contact with him as he never ceases to admonish for good morals. I enjoin you, your siblings and all that are left to mourn him to be comforted by Almighty God.

In another development, the Speaker commiserated with the family, friends and the entire Isoko nation over the death of the Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Tim Owhefere.

According to the Speaker, “It is with heavy heart that I received the shocking and devastating news of the sudden passing of the Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Tim Kome Owhefere KSC, on Wednesday 27th January, 2021. I am broken by his demise.

“While I commiserate with the wife, children, family, friends and associates, I have lost a dependable colleague, quintessential lawmaker and a friend. Again, my heart goes out to the Isoko nation for this huge loss.

“My colleague, Hon Owhefere died when his vast and expansive legislative experiences were most needed. He has left a vacuum that will be difficult to fill. While I take solace in the works and memorable moments we spent together as fellow lawmakers, I will forever remember his commitment to duties and loyalty to friendship.

“No doubt, this is a difficult moment for his constituents- Isoko North State Constituency. We should endeavour to keep his laudable achievements alive rather than question the circumstances of his death. It is an act of God painfully though but cannot be questioned.
Adieu Majority Leader
of our times”, the Speaker said.
