The Director of Oversea Development Agency, Ministry of Economic Planning, Mrs. Patience Ogbewe made the call on Wednesday in Asaba at the Office of the Attorney-General of the State when she led other members of the Delta State Technical Working Committee on UNICEF Assisted Programme on an advocacy visit on the A-G.

Mrs. Ogbewe while briefing the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Peter Mrakpor on the planned launching of the Delta State Social Protection Policy and the Food and Nutrition Policy on Thursday 22nd October at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, said the policies to be launched are multi-sectoral aimed at improving the lives of women and children in the state.

While advocating for the enactment of the State Social Protection Law, the Oversea Development Director scored its Technical Partner, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) high as the hallmark of best international practices which she said will be replicated in the State.

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Peter Mrakpor while thanking the Technical Working Committee for the visit, however, expressed his preparedness to collaborate with the team toward the successful launch and implementation of the programme in the State.
