Delta APC Chieftain Commiserate With State Governor Over Father’s Death

… Says he is still in shock over Majority Leader’s Demise

A chieftain of the major opposition political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta state chapter and candidate for the 2019 House of Representatives for Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, has lamented the death of the state governor’s father, Pa. Arthur Okorie Uzoma Okowa.

In his condolence message to the governor, he charged him, his immediate family and the people of Owa-Alero, Ika north east local government area of the state, to take solace in the fact that late Pa. Arthur Okowa, lived a fulfilled life.

The former State Coordinator, Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), overseeing Delta, Edo and Rivers States, pointed out that the exemplary life of Pa. Arthur Okowa, could be seen in the discipline and forthrightness he inculcated in his children and those close to him.

He noted that these attributes could be attested to in the quality of life and character of the governor, who had displayed a very rare leadership discipline and commitment to service.

He observed that it’s the prayer of every father for their children to bury them, just as Hon. Onowakpo, who was the former Chairman, Isoko South Council area, prayed God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest and also give the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

The business and financial administrator, further admonished the people of Owa-Alero, to console themselves with the fact that God was able to raise from among them a man who was able to fulfill destiny by raising a son who is a blessing not just to the community but the entire state.

In same vein, the All Progressives Congress heavyweight described the death of the Majority Leader, Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), Hon. Tim Kome Owhefere, representing Isoko north State Constituency, as both shocking and devastating to him.

On the death of the lawmaker, the former Chairman, Delta state Board of Internal Revenue, said he was yet to recover from the psychological trauma of his sudden demise, noting that they have come a long way together as close friends and political associates.

Hear him: “Myself and the late Hon. Owhefere, had been friends for such a very long time and we have been through alot as political associates, especially when it comes to grassroots politicking in Isoko land where we both came from and learnt the rope about the political structures of our area.

“Hon. Owhefere, was an astute politician, a grassroot man to the core and a team player anyday, anytime. What Distinguished him mostly is his passion for the growth and development of Isoko nation and this he was committed to all through his stay in the state Assembly”.

He prayed God to grant his gentle soul eternal rest and give the family he left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.
