In a statement personally signed by the lawmaker, and made available to his Media team, Hon. Izeze acknowledged the sterling qualities, political sagacity and immense contributions of Chief Ibori to the overall development of Delta State, wishing the astute leader more years of great service to Deltans nay Nigerians.
“Our distinguished leader, we want to use the occasion of your birth anniversary, to thank you once again for laying the foundation of good governance in our dear State.
“Your remarkable contributions to the struggle for the emancipation of the Niger-Delta through your resource control struggles culminated in the enactment of the 13% derivation which today has impacted greatly on the lives of Deltans through the instrumentality of DESOPADEC which you established in the twilight of your administration.
“Your contributions to the development of Delta State is indelible as the good people of Ogwashi Uku, Ozoro, Mosogar and Otefe-Oghara will not forget you in a hurry for the establishment of well equipped Polytechnics in their areas.
“Again, the people of Aboh, Bomadi, Omadino and Olomu will ever cherish the “Unity Bridges” built by your administration in furtherance of your rural/urban development strategy.
“You laid the foundation for the success being recorded today by Delta State in sports as you built sports stadias across the 25 local governments of the State.
“As a matter of fact, you displayed rare leadership and democratic qualities when you served as Executive Governor of Delta State. “Your records are profound and still being celebrated by all and sundry.
“On behalf of my family and the good people of Ughelli South State Constituency, I congratulate an astute manager of human relationships and leader of humorous proportion, a boss of no mean repute, an encyclopedia and locus classicus of Delta State nay Nigeria politics, His Excellency, Chief James Onanefe Ibori (Odidigborigbo), on the great occasion of his 62 birth anniversary.
