The Special Assistant (SA), to the state governor on Youth Development, Comrade Elvis Akpobi Obas, has disclosed that the 100 children would get brand new school bags.
Comrade Akpobi, who is the Executive Director, Not Too Young To Lead Initiative, also revealed that six school children, would be beneficiaries of scholarship to enable them continue their education.
He said his decision to reach out to the six children was due to their critical conditions.
Akpobi, who is using the occasion of the Principal Secretary to the state governor, Mr. Hilary Ibegbulem’s birthday to to wipe away tears from these children. And the parents and guardians, noted that he had his early childhood life from the area.
According to him, “In the early hours of this morning, I payed a visit to the slum of Igbi street in Warri south local government area, a place where I had my early childhood experience.
“Seeing and interacting with the children who were full of dreams and hope rekindled a lot about my childhood memories.
“Ahead of this year’s birthday celebration of the man, Mr Hilary Obi Ibegbulem who gave me(an alumnus of that slum) a platform to grow and make exploits.
“100 underprivileged children in that place will be beneficiaries of brand new school bags, while 6 children I was told about their very critical situation will be given scholarship to continue their education”.
