Delta Secondary Education Commissioner Seeks Synergy With Media

Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu has called for greater synergy between media organisations and her office for enhanced reportage of the numerous programmes, initiatives and goals of the administration, especially towards achieving the MORE Agenda of the the present administration.

Mrs. Ezewu made the call on Thursday August 22nd 2024, at the monthly Congress of Indigenous Correspondents’ Chapel (ICC), where she appeared on its platform, “ICC Mirror”, in Asaba, the State capital.

Represented by her media aide, Mr. Jude Bruno, the Commissioner with zero tolerance for corruption, noted that soon contractors would be mobilized to site for ongoing projects.

“As soon as that starts, the media will be visiting the sites to see what the ministry is doing and to access the level of works being done by the contractors”.

He urged members of the Chapel to always reach out to the Honourable Commissioner for her inputs whenever the need arises.

He assured that the Commissioner do not take calls from members of the press for granted as she has so much regards for the media and its practitioners.

“She has asked me to tell you people that we will continue to work together. It is not only during troubles that we should come together”, adding that the Commissioner would have loved to be physically present but for the visit of the President’s wife, Remi Tinubu, he was drafted to attend the Congress.

He stressed the need for balanced reportage of issues in order not to create tension in the State and nation just as he commended the media for holding public officers accountable to the people.

He however pleaded for constructive criticism than destructive ones and blackmails.

Meanwhile, Mr. Bruno, said the Secondary Education Commissioner has over 25 students in both higher institutions and secondary schools she pays school fees for.

“About eight of them are in the University. The teacher that died the other time, his children are on her scholarship”, describing her as a detribalized woman with great compassion for people.
