Chairman, Ethiope east local government council, Chief Faith Majemite, gave the charge in her address during the inauguration of the Committee at the school premises, Kokori, Ethiope east local government area of the state.
The council boss promised to assist towards the resuscitation of the boarding system in the college, just as she pledged her support for the purchase of a school bus for St. Kevin’ s College.
The council chairman, while commending the school for her excellent performance in the recently released WAEC results, advised parents not to withdraw their children from public schools to magic centres.
Earlier, the Principal of the school, Reverend Fr. Peter Kosomye, lamented that of all the schools that were handed over to the missionaries by the state government, St. Kevin’s College was the least developed.
He listed the provision of a school bus and resuscitation of the boarding system as the top most priority needs of the college.
The Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of the college, Mr. Joseph Umude, called on the alma mater of the college to contribute their quota to the development of the school.
According to him, the school had produced two traditional rulers in the personalities of the Olu of Warri, HRM Ikenwoli; and the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, and HRM Ukori 1, among others.
Those that were formally inaugurated as NEC of SKCOBA included Joseph Edafegwhara (President), Col. Wilson Ijide (Vice President), Andrew Umukoro (Sec Gen) Paul Emajemite (Asst Sec Gen) Stephen Ogigigbi (Treasurer) and John Obukevwo (Fin Sec.)
Others were Ambrose Ologide (PRO/ Pub Sec); Clement Odogucha (Provost); Dr John Atajoromavwo (Asst. Provost); Lawrence Egbo (Speaker); John Kosin (Asst. Speaker); Edward Idjenughwa (Social / Org Sec); Baldwin Omonigho (Auditor); and Mr Toju Arenyeka (Legal Adviser).
