Job creation is the best cure for poverty, and that’s why economic development and job creation should be the principle focus of any government.
Determined to eradicate poverty among Nigerians, presidential candidate on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, has planned to create 30 million jobs in different key sectors if elected Nigeria’s president come 2023.
As it is said, a rising tide lifts all boats, Adebayo, a reputable entrepreneur, said each state would be allocated one million federal government jobs.
Adebayo, who made a shocking revelation of oil theft at the 62nd Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Lagos, dropped the hint while interacting with the leadership of the party at the State, Senatorial, LGA and Ward levels in Oginibo, Ughelli south local government area of Delta State.
The Chief Executive Officer of KAFTAN TV, said that with the huge level of unemployment in the country, it had become imperative to come up with a pragmatic approach to creating jobs for the people.
He noted that with the huge contributions of the key
sectors to the Gross Domestic Product of the Nigerian economy, it had become imperative to explore their job creation potentials to reduce the level of unemployment in the country.
Said he: “We are going to create 30 million jobs and there are 36 states in Nigeria. If we are creating 30 million jobs, imagine if there are one million federal government jobs created in Delta State.
“There are 25 local governments in Delta. It means there are 40, 000 jobs in each local government and we have a maximum of 15 wards in each local government.
“If you have 40, 000 jobs and you divide it into 15, at least, you will be able to give 1, 500 jobs per ward”.
Prince Adebayo, a renowned lawyer, noted that in order to revamp the economy, plans are already on ground to come up with innovative solutions to create 30 million jobs in different sectors of the economy.
“We will make sure that the prices of goods stabilizes by supplying more goods either by production or by buying.
“Secondly, you must slow down the supply of money because that is what causes inflation. You make sure that the government spends only the money that the government has”.
He said the nation would never get there until government replaced all these jobs that have been lost, hence the need to focus on key sectors that would hold the key to the diversification efforts of his administration.
“Every school will be open, while those who desire to farm, equipment will be made available to them coupled with road construction, we will create all these jobs”, he reiterated.
