The Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) has announced that Dr. Ochuko Benedict Emudainohwo, PhD, FCA, Associate Professor of Accounting at Dennis Osadebay University (DOU), Asaba, will deliver the 6th DOPF Annual Lecture scheduled for Thursday, November 27, 2025, at David’s Event Centre, Asaba, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
In a joint statement signed by the Planning Committee Chairman, Mr. Abel Johngold, and Secretary, Mrs. Josephine Omodior, the committee described Dr. Emudainohwo as “an accomplished scholar and professional accountant with a distinguished record of academic leadership, research excellence, and professional service.”
Dr. Emudainohwo, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), currently serves as Associate Professor of Accounting at Dennis Osadebay University.
He is widely respected for his expertise in accounting, taxation, and financial governance, and previously served as Acting Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, during the 2023/2024 academic session, where he championed academic development, curriculum reform, and interdisciplinary research.
A product of both local and international institutions, Dr. Emudainohwo earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Accounting from Glasgow, United Kingdom, and holds a Master’s Degree in Finance, an MBA (Finance), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, all from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
His academic and professional background integrates theory and practice, with core research interests spanning foreign direct investment, taxation, financial governance, firm performance, and public sector accountability.
Dr. Emudainohwo has published widely in reputable national and international journals, contributing to policy debates on fiscal responsibility, accountability, and governance reforms in developing economies.
His scholarly works continue to shape contemporary thought in accounting and financial policy.
At Dennis Osadebay University, he also coordinates the Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS) and teaches several undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Financial Accounting, Contemporary Issues in Accounting, Social and Environmental Accounting, History of Accounting Thought, and Advanced Management Accounting Theory.
He has successfully supervised numerous research projects and dissertations, mentoring the next generation of accounting professionals.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Emudainohwo is actively involved in university administration and serves on various committees that promote academic quality and institutional advancement.
His professional affiliations and contributions to ICAN underscore his commitment to the growth of the accounting profession in Nigeria.
The Planning Committee expressed confidence that Dr. Emudainohwo’s lecture will deliver “a scholarly, practical, and policy-driven perspective” on this year’s theme, “Nigeria’s New Tax Law: Implications and Opportunities for Businesses and Society.”
The 2025 DOPF Annual Lecture will also feature a panel of distinguished discussants drawn from government, academia, business, and civil society, and is expected to attract policymakers, professionals, corporate leaders, and members of the media.
The organisers further confirmed that His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, will grace the occasion as Special Guest of Honour, alongside other top government officials and dignitaries from across the country.
