According to him, the project will ease traffic movement, stimulate economic activities and improve the overall living conditions of residents in the benefiting communities.

He disclosed that the capital territory has witnessed substantial infrastructural expansion in recent years, noting that more than 70 kilometres of roads have been completed or are ongoing across the territory.

“About 50 kilometres of these roads were executed directly by the agency, while more than 20 kilometres of drainage works have also been constructed to tackle flooding challenges and improve the environment,” Ukah said.

The DSCTDA Director-General also revealed that the long-awaited Asagba Road project in Asaba had received approval from the governor and that construction work would commence soon.

Ukah expressed appreciation to the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for his continued commitment to infrastructural development under the administration’s MORE Agenda, noting that the policy direction has significantly transformed the capital territory.

Meanwhile, Governor Oborevwori officially inaugurated the 4.8-kilometre Oko–Amakom/Oko–Obiokpu Road and adjoining road networks, describing the project as part of his administration’s commitment to improving connectivity and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

The governor said the road project would further strengthen transportation within the capital territory and support economic activities across surrounding communities.
