The Director General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), Mr. Patrick Ukah, has expressed strong satisfaction with the quality and pace of work on key road and flood-control projects across the state capital following an unscheduled inspection tour on Monday.
Mr. Ukah, accompanied by senior officials of the Agency, including the Project Manager and supervising engineer, Engr. Bawo Atsiangbe, visited several project sites in Asaba and Okpanam, covering parts of Oshimili South and Oshimili North Local Government Areas.
The inspection was aimed at assessing on-site progress and ensuring full compliance with approved engineering standards.
Addressing newsmen during the tour, the Director General said the projects inspected are central to the Agency’s mandate to improve connectivity, ease traffic flow, and enhance the living conditions of residents within the Capital Territory.
Among the ongoing projects visited was the flood-control system at Ogbeilo/Ugbomanta Streets, with a discharge drain running through Ogbeogonogo Market to Utuogwu Bay in Asaba.
Now at about 60 per cent completion, Mr. Ukah described the project as vital to ending the recurrent flooding in the area.
He also inspected several road projects already completed and delivered to specification.
They include the construction of Princess Pat Ajudua Crescent with a 110-metre spur to New General Hospital Road in GRA Phase V; Ambassador Leo Okogwu Road and its adjoining streets in Zappa; Martins Nwanze Street; and the overlay of Oweazin Kenaz Crescent in Okpanam.
Other fully completed projects visited were Aloy Isowede/Pastor Agbaegbu D. Street in Asaba and Cletus Okolie Achi Way/Marble Hill School Road with a spur to Holy Family Catholic Church Road, off Okpanam Road.
Mr. Ukah commended the DSCTDA engineering team, led by Engr. Atsiangbe, for upholding high construction standards and delivering quality work across all locations.
He reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to ensuring value for money, durability, and long-term functionality in all projects under its purview.
“From what I have seen so far, I am impressed with both the quality of work and the level of progress achieved.
“Very soon, these roads will be open for full public use, bringing ease, better connectivity, and comfort to residents and road users,” he said.
He further assured residents that the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration remains steadfast in its drive to strengthen infrastructure across the Capital Territory, noting that the government places premium value on durable, people-focused projects that elevate urban living.
