A chieftain of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), and former Special Duty Commissioner, Mr. Tony Nwaka, has cleared the air on his alleged involvement in the 2014 Governorship Primary election in the state.

Nwaka, in a post on Saturday May 22nd 2021, via his Facebook page distant himself from the circulated result online which has gone viral.

He insisted that Tony Uwaka and Tony Nwaka are completely two different persons, revealing that he would be made manifest when the full time comes.

The former Commissioner used the medium to mourn those who died in the Kaduna military crash which involved the Chief of Army Staff, Abrahim Attahiru and seven others.

Read details below:

I DID NOT CONTEST IN THE 2014 PDP GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARY ELECTION.

Reference the attached result sheet which has been circulating online for some time now, and purported to be of the 2014 PDP governorship primary election in Delta State. I have received numerous calls and read various comments suggesting that Tony Uwaka, the aspirant listed at No. 15, is the same person as Tony Nwaka, accidentally misspelt.

I wish to state, for purposes of clarification, that Tony Uwaka and Tony Nwaka are two completely different persons. Whilst a certain Tony Uwaka may have participated in the exercise, let it be known that I, Tony Nwaka, was not part of that contest. I was neither a delegate to the primary election nor did I even purchase the expression of interest and nomination form of my great party, PDP. Indeed, I was nowhere near the vicinity of the election on that day.

I hope this statement will clear the air on the matter and permanently put to rest all the speculations and insinuations that have eventuated therein. There are times and seasons to the manifestations of the divine will. In God’s appointed time and season, Tony Nwaka shall occupy whichever is his apportioned place in destiny.

May I also use this opportunity to convey my condolences to the families of our gallant men in uniform who died yesterday in Kaduna while on service to our nation. May their souls rest in peace.

Thank you and best wishes.

Ide Tony Felix Nwaka, PhD.
