The Centre for Management Development (CMD), in collaboration with strategic private sector partners, has rolled out a series of empowerment and community development programmes targeting youths, women, and grassroots communities across Delta North Senatorial District.

The initiatives, facilitated by Senator Ned Nwoko, are designed to drive skills acquisition, economic empowerment, and improved access to primary healthcare services within the district.

From January 28 to 31, 2026, CMD, in partnership with Albeam Global Resources Ltd, will host a Youth Training and Empowerment Programme at Hotel Benezia.

The programme will convene young people from across Delta North for intensive capacity-building sessions focused on leadership development, entrepreneurship, and employability skills.

Within the same period, CMD, in collaboration with Al Qibad International Ltd, will also organise a Capacity Development Programme for Women at Hotel Benezia.

The initiative aims to equip women with practical knowledge and skills to enhance economic participation, promote business growth, and foster self-reliance.

As part of its community intervention strategy, CMD will further partner with Biomed Imaging and Health Resources Ltd to conduct a Medical Outreach for selected communities in Delta North on February 1 and 2, 2026.

The outreach will be held at the Primary Healthcare Centre, Agbor, in Ika South Local Government Area, and the Primary Healthcare Centre, Ibusa, in Oshimili North Local Government Area.

Residents will benefit from free healthcare services, including Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments, malaria testing, blood sugar screening, eye examinations, and general medical consultations.

The outreach will also feature health education sessions, distribution of essential drugs, and the provision of eyeglasses to beneficiaries.

Speaking ahead of the programmes, Senator Ned Nwoko reaffirmed his commitment to human capital development and social welfare in Delta North, stressing that youth empowerment, women’s economic inclusion, and strengthened primary healthcare delivery are critical to sustainable development.

“These programmes are part of our continuous efforts to build capacity, create opportunities, and improve the quality of life of our people.

When our youths are skilled, our women are empowered, and our communities are healthy, development becomes sustainable,” Senator Nwoko said.

Community leaders and prospective participants have welcomed the initiatives, describing them as timely and impactful, while expressing optimism about their potential to improve livelihoods and expand access to essential services.

CMD noted that the programmes are in line with its broader mandate to support national development through strategic partnerships, capacity-building, and community engagement.

Stakeholders have also expressed hope that the success of the initiatives will inspire similar interventions across other parts of Delta State and beyond.
