Rtn. Ojebor made the promise on Thursday in her acceptance speech shortly after she was installed as the 17th president of the club in Asaba, Delta state.
She also promised that the club under her watch would improve on the way community development services are done to be efficient and result oriented, stressing that the seven areas of focus would be committed to.
She said the club has carefully selected projects under her tenure that would impact positively in the lives of the less privilege people in the society, disclosing that two kids with hole disorders in their hearts were sponsored abroad for surgery.
“We will in the next few months commence medical outreaches in Asaba and Issele-Uku, hold town hall meetings for peace and conflict resolution and prevention vigorously within Asaba”.
Also speaking, the immediate past president of the club, Rtn. Austin Ekpewu, in his validatory speech, said that during his tenure, Nigeria was declared Polio free, District 9141 became the third largest in terms of number.
He disclosed, “I started with 52 members but we grew to 71, after removing about 12 members who due to relocation are no longer attending meetings. We have more than 25 projects across the district. We are rated 5th best out of 27 clubs”, adding that the club during his tenure touched up to three projects in the areas of focus.
Chairman, Installation Committee, Rtn. Nneka Enwelu, hinted that before a president is installed, she must have passed through series of training.
