A wide range of people-focused projects facilitated by the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, across Warri South West Constituency are progressing steadily, underscoring his commitment to sustainable development in the area.
The Speaker, who represents the constituency, undertook an inspection tour of several project sites over the weekend to assess the level of work done and ensure timely completion.
The projects, which span key sectors including education, healthcare, road infrastructure, and social services, are strategically distributed across the ten wards of the constituency to ensure inclusive development.
Among the projects inspected were classroom blocks at Raymond Primary School, Costain; the Ugborodo Modern Market; Ogidigben Road; Ogidigben Hospital; Madangho Community Road; Oporoza School; renovation works at Battan School; Naifor Island School; as well as multiple solar-powered street lighting initiatives across communities.
Additional projects include housing units at Akpakpa and Kantu; Oporoza Town Hall; renovation of a six-classroom block at Bisobo Primary School, Pina Zion; a concrete landing jetty at Opuedebubor; Oporoza Market; Kantu Road; Ijaghalla Road; and the Okerenkoko–Pepeama–Kokodiagbene Road in Okerenkoko.
Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, Rt. Hon. Guwor, who also serves as Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, stated that the projects are designed to uplift living standards, particularly in riverine communities.
He reaffirmed the deliberate and strategic efforts of the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori toward closing infrastructure gaps and improving livelihoods in rural areas across the state.
The Speaker assured residents of his continued commitment to laying a solid foundation for long-term development in Warri South West Constituency, while urging communities to safeguard public infrastructure against vandalism to encourage further government interventions.
He expressed appreciation to constituents for their consistent support and cooperation.
Residents, in turn, commended Governor Oborevwori and Speaker Guwor for attracting impactful projects and other democratic dividends to their communities.
They pledged their continued support and prayers for the leadership as it advances governance and development in the state.
The residents, however, highlighted some pressing challenges, particularly the shortage of teachers in public schools, and appealed to the relevant authorities for urgent intervention.
