“Your Excellency, first and foremost we wish to send our heartfelt condolences to you and your entire family over the demise of your lovely father, Chief Arthur Okorie Uzoma Okowa, who lived an impactful life worthy of emulation.

In a statement issued on Saturday 30th January 2021 by Awipi Lawson, IYC Western Zone Information Officer, applauded the governor for the level of development.
“Your Excellency Sir, again we want to thank and appreciate you for all the developmental strides you have put in place (completed and on going) in all the Ijaw areas in the state, God bless you Sir”.
IYC, expressed sadness that a Bill to upgrade three Institutions to University status was sent to the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA) without any consideration to the Ijaw local government Areas.
According to the statement, “Your Excellency Sir, with utmost displeasure, we say there is no equity in it. Our contributions and our support from the inception of time (1999), and for this administration ought to give us a launchpad to infrastructural development but all we see is marginalization in critical issues of this nature. The bitter truth is, Ijaw people are not feeling the presence of government in our communities. We have been treated like the second class citizens
“Sir, We have no higher institution in the Ijaw places. The only school even sited in Burutu, the Maritime Technology is poorly funded and the infrastructure is totally decaying. It will be of utmost good if we once again draw your attention to the already established Polytechnic in Bomadi by the past administration.
“The construction works was on going before the project was stopped due to lack of funds from this administration. Sir, you once said initially that there is no fund to carryout the project but now that there is fund Please Sir, consider the Bomadi Polytechnic for immediate kickstart”.

Sir, it is no more news that you have sent a Bill to the State House of Assembly asking to upgrade three institutions in Delta State to University level without any consideration to the Ijaw Local Governments Areas.
Your Excellency Sir, with utmost displeasure we say there is no equity in it. Our contributions and our support from the inception of time (1999), and for this administration ought to give us a launchpad to infrastructural development but all we see is marginalization in critical issues of this nature. Sir, you once said initially that there is no fund to carryout the project but now that there is fund Please Sir, consider the Bomadi Polytechnic for immediate kickstart.
Your Excellency Sir, it will be of important also if we equally remind you of the Ayakoromo bridge. The completion of that bridge will be of economic viable for us as people and the improvement of the State Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) due to the road networks to different communities. We are appealing that Your Excellency see reasons with us to complete the bridge.
Your Excellency Sir, we also appeal for more infrastructure, more equipment and more doctors in our hospitals in the riverine areas. People are dying on a daily basis because of lack of these aforementioned resources. We are also using this medium to appeal for the upgrade of the Bomadi General hospital to a Teaching Hospital
Your Excellency Sir, we lack pipeborne water in the riverine communities and this has course a whole lot of damage in the lives of people. We equally demand seasaw for all communities because many communities are below the sea level. Sir, we lack internal and external roads network in all the riverine communities we plead through this opportunity that our road are look up to.
Please, accept our regards of the highest esteem.
Yours faithfully
