The Honourable Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), Hon. Engr. Emeka Emmanuel Nwaobi, Ph.D., has marked two years of exceptional service, legislative distinction, and people-focused representation as Leader of the 8th Assembly.

Sworn in as Leader of the House on June 24, 2023, just weeks after the inauguration of the current Assembly, Hon. Nwaobi has become a driving force behind legislative reform, constituency empowerment, and inter-governmental collaboration.

He also serves as Chairman of the Nigeria Majority Leaders’ Forum, a national position he has held since 2023.

LEGISLATIVE TRAILBLAZER

Within just two years, Hon. Nwaobi has established himself as the most prolific sponsor of bills in the 8th Assembly.

His sponsored legislations address critical areas of governance and public welfare, including:

Delta State Merit Award Bill, 2023 (Passed), Recognizes individuals and organizations contributing to state development.

Delta State Domestic Staff Service Providers (Registration) Bill, 2024 (Passed), Regulates domestic staff welfare and accountability.

Delta State Food Security Bill, 2025 (At Committee Stage), Strengthens agricultural resilience and sustainability.

Delta State Landlord and Tenant Bill, 2025 (First Reading), Provides legal clarity and balance in tenancy agreements.

Delta State Public Health and Hygiene Bill, 2025 (Awaiting First Reading), Promotes improved sanitation and health safeguards.

Construction of Issele-Azagba/Otulu Road

Water Scheme Project, Issele-Uku

Iyinta Water Settlement Dredging, Issele-Uku (flood control)

Development of a Multi-Court Complex, Issele-Uku

Facilitation of the Concessioning of the Leather Factory, Issele-Uku

Empowerment Initiatives:

On January 17, 2025, Hon. Nwaobi empowered 250 constituents with ₦200,000 each, a total of ₦50 million, to support small-scale enterprises and stimulate local economic growth.
