The Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers of Nigeria (GOMEP-NG) has praised Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for the introduction of 50 buses to strengthen public transportation across the state, describing the initiative as a significant milestone in delivering people-oriented governance.

In a letter dated July 6, 2026, and signed by its National President, Comrade Akpovoke Otiti, the Guild said the transport intervention reflects Governor Oborevwori’s unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of Deltans and fulfilling the developmental objectives of his MORE Agenda.

According to GOMEP-NG, the initiative extends beyond the provision of buses, representing a strategic investment aimed at enhancing economic mobility, easing transportation challenges, improving access to employment and essential services, and reducing the financial burden of commuting on residents.

The Guild stated: “This thoughtful intervention is yet another demonstration of your steadfast commitment to improving the quality of life of Deltans and translating the promises of your MORE Agenda into meaningful and measurable benefits for the people.”

GOMEP-NG further observed that digital media has emerged as a dominant source of information for millions of Nigerians, with online newspapers, digital television platforms, internet radio stations, podcasts, blogs, streaming services and news websites playing an increasingly influential role in shaping public opinion and driving national conversations in real time.

The Guild reaffirmed its commitment to upholding responsible journalism, promoting factual and balanced reporting, and supporting policies and programmes that advance sustainable development and good governance across Nigeria.
