Gbagi Anointed As Okowa’s Successor Ahead Of Saturday’s Guber Poll

The parish priest of St John the Baptist Catholic Church Oleh, Isoko south local government area of Delta State, Rev Fr. Steve Oghenenovo, has anointed the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), His Excellency, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi as the preferred candidate that would succeed the incumbent governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.

Although, this is not the first of its kind, as the Archbishop of Bendel Province and Bishop of Ughelli Diocese, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Rt. Rev’d Cyril Odiboghene Odutemu, among other renowned clerics had anointed him as the chosen one.

Father Oghenovo, who is in charge of both Isoko south n Isoko north anointed the former Chairman, Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, at the end of a town hall meeting after a brainstorming interactive session on Sunday March 12th 2023.

In his prayers, Fr. Oghenovo, prayed that God would grant the major industrialist in the State, victory at the poll.

While noting that the race was not for the strong, but for those called of God, he prayed that God would pour down his blessings on the front line runner and his Deputy governorship candidate, Chief Mrs Oshilim Ishioma Rosemary and those that accompanied them on the visit.

Praying thus, he said: “The race is not for the swift but for those that you have anointed.

“Pour down your blessing upon your son and your daughter and all the entourage that are going to work with them

“Father we pray and anoint your servant for the task ahead, for his ambition be fulfilled to the glory of your name.

“The Bible says who will speak IG God has not spoken. May God speak in your favour.

“By the agreement we have made in this place in the name of God the father, the Son and the holy Spirit”, he added.
