#ENDSARS: Group Tasks FG on Adequate Funding, Proper Reform Of Police

A Non-Governmental human Rights Organization, Center For Human Rights And Public Complain (CHRPC), called on the Federal Government to consider a genuine reforms and adequate funding for the Nigeria Police Force.

The national president of the group, Comrade Ezekiel Kagbala made the call on Wednesday 14th October 2020, in Warri, during a familiarization visit to the Warri Area Commander of the Nigeria Police, ACP Abubaka Agungu to inform intimate the force about the organisation’s activities in Warri Delta State.

In his statement during the visit, the NGO urged the government to fully implement the appropriate funding framework for the Police as stated in the police act which was signed into law recently by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The body also indicates her interest in partnering with security operatives in promoting human right and effective policing. 

The group added that security job is not only for the police, but for everyone as all have a role to play in enabling the police force to deal with the demands and intricacies of the society.

The group further added her voice to the call by Nigerians on proper reformation of the police force, and to also encourage officers and men of the force by given them adequate attention, good salary structure, proper training that is in accordance with international standard as well as decent accommodation and other incentives.

This the group affirmed, will motivate police officers in carrying out their duties with professional and excellent ethics.

On his part, the Police Area Commander for Warri, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Human Right body, stating that for acknowledging the role of Police in the society.
