The 14th edition of the Peace Legend Awards International is set to take place on April 27, 2025, celebrating 100 outstanding brands and personalities who are driving positive change across Nigeria and the African continent.
Founded by Mr. Jesse Osero Amiri, in collaboration with a team of researchers dedicated to promoting peace in Africa, this year’s edition will spotlight individuals who have made exceptional contributions in politics, business, science, arts, activism, and sports.
Among the high-profile honorees:
High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo will be conferred with the Africa Legend of Peace 2025 Award, recognizing his impactful role in fostering peace and development.
Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Africa’s foremost business magnate, will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award for his enduring legacy in business and philanthropy.
In a press statement, Mr. Amiri emphasized Africa’s significance to the global community, describing it as “the source of life, a continent rich in diversity, culture, and natural resources.”
He highlighted Africa’s vital role in global development and industrialization, as well as the influence of African leaders, entrepreneurs, and visionaries who continue to shape history and the future.
He further noted that Nigeria, as the continent’s largest nation, has produced some of Africa’s most influential figures in governance, business, and culture.
“From Nelson Mandela to Kwame Nkrumah, Obafemi Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Julius Nyerere, and Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Africa’s history is filled with trailblazers whose legacies have left indelible marks,” Amiri stated.
This year’s Peace Legend Awards, he said, shifts focus to current leaders and changemakers, celebrating those who have excelled in their respective fields through a transparent and rigorous selection process.
The grand award ceremony will take place at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, starting at 6:00 PM, and promises to be a spectacular event.
It will be hosted by renowned comedian Gordons “D’Beliconi”, and will gather Africa’s elite in a night of recognition, celebration, and inspiration.
