The Executive Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Area, Hon. Ezenyili Kelvin Obi, Ph.D., has signed the 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, commending members of the Legislative Arm for their diligence, cooperation, and commitment throughout the budget preparation process.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Chairman applauded the legislature, led by Hon. Michael Okonji, for what he described as a thorough, transparent, and capacity-driven handling of the appropriation process.

He noted that the collaborative effort between the executive and legislative arms reflects a shared commitment to advancing development across the local government.

A major highlight of the event was the Chairman’s firm commitment to commence the long-awaited reconstruction of the Council’s Back-End Road.

He described the project as long overdue, acknowledging the sustained public concern over its condition.

According to him, beyond serving as a critical access route to the Council Secretariat from the DLA axis, the reconstruction will stimulate economic activities within the area and enhance ease of movement.

The project is also expected to provide safer and more convenient access to the Secretariat, reducing reliance on the expressway by residents and visitors.

Hon. Obi, popularly known as EKO, assured residents that the 2026 budget is strategically designed to prioritize the delivery of tangible democratic dividends across all sectors and communities within Oshimili South.

He further commended the Governor of Delta State for creating an enabling environment for effective governance through the MORE Agenda, which he said has strengthened grassroots development and enhanced the capacity of local governments to deliver impactful projects.

Reaffirming his administration’s resolve, EKO pledged to sustain the current development momentum and continue implementing people-centered initiatives that justify the confidence reposed in his leadership.
