Field & Enrollment and Liaison Agents of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission have been urged to perform their duties with diligence and focus, aligning with the MORE agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.
The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, made this call while declaring open a two-day capacity building workshop on business and marketing strategies, organized by the Commission for its field sales and enrollment agents.
The event, held at the Commission’s conference hall in Asaba, was attended by 350 participants from the 25 local government areas of the state.
Dr. Akpoveta emphasized that providing decent, affordable, and accessible healthcare for Deltans remains a priority for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and former Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.
He urged the agents to apply the knowledge gained at the event to promote the Commission’s initiatives, particularly the Indigent Enrollee Adoption Initiative and the Artisan Inducement Initiative.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Austin Obidi, highlighted the critical role of agents in advancing the MORE agenda of the administration.
He noted that the event was designed to build their capacity to effectively carry out their duties and achieve the Commission’s goals.
The Management Consultant to the DSCHC, Dr. SOS Nwachukwu, and the Director of ICT, Mr. Emmanuel Akpofure, explained that the field sales and enrollment agents’ performance would be evaluated based on a target-driven system following the training.
In his lecture on “Work Culture,” Mr. Charles Ojakovo of Kingsclass Consulting Services emphasized the importance of aligning with workplace culture for success.
He advised agents to enhance their communication skills, maintain integrity and respect, be good team players, and stay open-minded to innovative solutions.
Another resource person delivered a lecture titled “Basic Marketing and Sales Strategies,” focusing on effective marketing, client targeting, and improving sales techniques to enhance job performance.
The two-day event featured question-and-answer sessions, written assessments to gauge participants’ understanding, and the presentation of certificates of participation to the agents.
