Delta State Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, in a moving tribute filled with deep respect and nostalgia, has extolled the virtues of two of his childhood friends and illustrious sons of Nigeria, Major-General Lawrence Fejokwu and Major-General Raymond Ochei, as they honourably bow out of active service after reaching the prestigious rank of Major General in the Nigerian Army.
Dr. Osuoza, who described the duo in a statement made available to The Story on Saturday November 1, 2025, as embodiments of patriotism and professionalism, recalled their early years and the memorable moment of their passing-out parades at the Nigerian Defence Academy, the start of what would become exemplary military careers marked by courage, integrity, and loyalty to the Nigerian nation.
“Through the years, they have demonstrated unwavering faith in the Nigerian project and an abiding sense of professionalism that continues to inspire many,” Dr. Osuoza noted, adding that their trustworthiness, tactical acumen, and steadfast devotion to duty have remained a beacon of excellence within and beyond the military.
Expressing gratitude for witnessing their remarkable journeys from cadets to accomplished generals, Dr. Osuoza commended both officers for serving their country with distinction and retiring in good health after decades of meritorious service.
“I salute your gallantry, your principles, and your exemplary service to our great nation,” he said warmly.
“You have both left indelible marks in the Nigerian Army and inspired generations with your commitment to the ideals of discipline, honour, and patriotism.”
Dr. Osuoza wished Major-General Fejokwu and Major-General Ochei continued success and fulfilment in their post-service pursuits, describing their careers as a source of pride to their families, friends, and the nation at large.
