A United States-based engineer and entrepreneur, Emeka Ijei, has commended the outstanding legislative performance of the member representing Aniocha North Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Emeka Emmanuel Nwaobi, describing his conduct in office as exemplary and deserving of continued public support.

In a statement declaring his endorsement, Ijei noted that the lawmaker has demonstrated remarkable competence across the core pillars of legislation, oversight, and representation, earning him the confidence of constituents at home and abroad for another term in office.

He highlighted several achievements credited to Nwaobi, including the sponsorship of people-oriented laws such as the widely acclaimed Landlord and Tenant Bill, which has attracted significant public approval.

According to Ijei, Nwaobi’s diligence in oversight—both as a committee chairman and member, has contributed to key governance reforms and infrastructural improvements.

He cited instances in the sports sector, where the lawmaker ensured accountability in the execution of the Issele-Uku Stadium project, as well as in the works sector, where his firm stance led to the revocation and re-award of a substandard airport runway contract, alongside the replacement of critical equipment such as the Instrument Landing System (ILS).

On representation, Ijei emphasized that Nwaobi has maintained strong engagement with constituents, making his office one of the most accessible in the Assembly.

He noted that the lawmaker’s responsiveness to the needs of the people has strengthened his grassroots appeal.

He further referenced Nwaobi’s recognition as an award-winning legislator across his first and second terms.

Notably, during his 50th birthday in 2025, over 250 constituents reportedly benefited from financial support, a gesture described as unprecedented and impactful.

In terms of infrastructure, Ijei commended the lawmaker’s role in facilitating the inclusion of critical road projects in state budgets, spanning communities such as Issele-Uku, Onicha-Ugbo, Onicha-Olona, Ubulu-Okiti, and beyond.

He added that numerous constituency projects, particularly in education, have led to the construction of modern classroom blocks across several primary and secondary schools in Aniocha North.

Beyond education, Nwaobi’s interventions extend to the health sector, including the construction of staff quarters at the Issele-Uku Health Centre and the organization of free medical outreaches and minor surgeries across the constituency.

He also noted the renovation of key public facilities and judicial infrastructure, including court buildings in Onicha-Ugbo and Issele-Uku.

Ijei also recalled the lawmaker’s intervention in agriculture during a period of economic hardship, when support was provided to farmers through the distribution of fertilizers and farming inputs to boost productivity.

Providing further insight into recent projects, he stated that between 2023 and date, Nwaobi has delivered multiple classroom blocks, ongoing renovations, sanitation facilities in schools, and attracted strategic road projects, while continuing advocacy for additional developments within the local government.

Dismissing criticisms from detractors, Ijei described such views as unfounded and politically motivated, insisting that the lawmaker’s record of performance speaks for itself.

He concluded that constituents in the diaspora remain satisfied with Nwaobi’s achievements, particularly his effectiveness in lawmaking, oversight, and representation.

He added that Nwaobi’s leadership capacity earned him the position of Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Nigeria Majority Leaders’ Forum.

Ijei therefore encouraged the lawmaker to remain steadfast, assuring him of the continued support of Aniocha North indigenes in the diaspora.
