The Delta State Waste Management Board (DSWMB) has continued its commitment to environmental sanitation and public health with an ongoing cleanup and maintenance exercise at Esisi Bridge, Okere, in Warri, Delta State.
The operation, carried out on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, forms part of the Board’s sustained efforts to keep major waterways, bridges, and urban corridors free from waste, improve environmental aesthetics, and prevent flooding within the metropolis.
The exercise is being supervised by Patience Jitokun, who is coordinating field personnel to ensure effective waste evacuation and adherence to environmental safety standards at the site.
Speaking on the initiative, officials of the Board reiterated that the intervention aligns with the strategic vision of the Chairman, Hon. Matthew Mofe Edema, to promote a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Delta State through proactive waste management and regular sanitation exercises across urban and semi-urban communities.
Residents and commuters around the Esisi Bridge axis commended the Board for the timely intervention, noting that consistent maintenance of the area would enhance safety, improve drainage flow, and uplift the overall outlook of the environment.
The Delta State Waste Management Board assured the public that similar cleanup operations will continue in other parts of the state, as the Board remains resolute in supporting the Delta State Government’s environmental sustainability agenda and encouraging residents to adopt responsible waste disposal practices.
