Delta Governor Shows Commitment, As Anti Open Grazing Bill Passes First Reading

Barely eight days after the Southern governors in its July 5th 2021 meeting, set a timeline of Wednesday, 1st September, 2021 for the promulgation of the anti open grazing law in all member States, the Delta state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has shown enormous commitment to the course of securing his state from Fulani Jihadists.

On Tuesday July 13th 2021, a Bill for a Law to Provide for the Regulation of Livestock Grazing, Rearing and Marketing and To Prohibit Open Grazing and Related Matters, passes First Reading on the Floor of the Delta State House of Assembly.

The motion was moved by Hon. Oghenerume Yakubu  Izeze Rume Reuben, member representing Ughelli South constituency and was seconded by Rt. Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, the Deputy Speaker of the House.

The Speaker, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, slated 14th July, 2021 for the second reading of the Bill.
