Delta Deputy Governor Charges Pilgrim Board On Integrity

The Delta state Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board, has been charged to exhibit high level of integrity while selecting intending pilgrims to the Holy Land.

The State Deputy Governor, Deacon Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, challenged the Board to also show credibility in the process of selecting intending pilgrims to avoid abscondment.

The Deputy Governor stated this Thursday when he played host to members of the state pilgrims welfare board led by Archbishop Cyril Odutemu.

The board members were in the Deputy Governor’s office to thank the state government for their continued support and intimate him on yet another planned pilgrimage.

A press release by the Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor on Media, Elohor Agbra, stated that the Deputy Governor, Deacon Otuaro, acknowledged the positive impact of the prayers of the Christian bodies on successes of the Governor Okowa-led administration.

He said his passion for the board has been a motivating factor to give full support to the board to succeed.

Deacon Otuaro however expressed reservations over the past activities of board which has put question mark on the credibility of the process of selection of intending pilgrims who end up absconding.

He then advised the current board to live up to to their statutory and spiritual responsibilities so as to preserve the image of the state and achieve the desired spiritual growth. 

Chairman of the Board Archbishop Cyril Odutemu, appealed for the upward review of the number of intending pilgrims which the Deputy Governor has assured of necessary considerations.

Those in attendance include the Commissioner for special duties, Mofe Pirah, the Commissioner for Environment, Chris Onogba, the Deputy Chief of Staff Government House, Jude Sinibe.
