Ahead of the 2023 governorship election in Delta State, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Anthony William Ovrawah Omagha I, the Odio Ologbo of Oleh Kingdom, Isoko south local government area, has called on the entire Isoko Nation to give their votes for Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The revered monarch made the call on Saturday August 6th 2022, when the former minister of State for education, Olorogun Gbagi and the leadership of the party both at the national and state levels paid a courtesy visit to the king.
The traditional ruler, a great legend who have spent 28 years on the throne called on the sons and daughters of Isoko land to massively translate their support to votes for the candidate of SDP in the coming election.
The monarch described Gbagi, as an honest man whose character and integrity speak volumes of his personality across the world and political divide.
He tasked them on the need to get their PVCs as it is the only weapon with which they could remove bad leaders and enthrone the righteous ones especially Gbagi, whose plans for the State is to develop it.
“I know Gbagi, he does what he says. He should have been the governor many years ago when he indicated interest. Otherwise, I would have said, why so late but it is better late than never. This is the right time. Go and vote for him, the water you will drink will not be denied you. I agree with you that you are the next governor of the state.
“If there are people who says a thing and they does it, Gbagi is one of them and we are hearing the slogan, ‘SDP, progress’. The name SDP has been formed for progress.
“All of you that followed him here, your votes are important for him to win”, stressing that Gbagi, has the capacity to deliver on his electioneering promises.
This points to the fact that the SDP, is truly a social movement which monarchs like the Olu of Warri Ogiame Atuwatse III, Abe 1, Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, Dr. Emmanuel Ekemejewan Sideso, the world oldest monarch, the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom cum Chairman, Council of Urhobo Traditional Rulers, Ovie Richard Ogoni-Oghoro 1, Okowa’s traditional ruler, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II, Obi of Owa kingdom, the Asagba of Asaba, Obi Prof Chike Edozien who doubles as the Chairman, Delta North Traditional Rulers Forum, the Odion-Ologbo of Olomoro Kingdom,
HRM Isaiah Isiki Edekere 1 and lots of other respected kings have prayed for its success.
Worthy of note, is that the Church from the top hierarchy of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), to the bottom, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) to denominations including the Anglican Communion, from the Primate to the laity, the Pentecostals and the Orthodox churches have all queued behind the project.
No wonder, the late father of the governor, Pa. Okorie Arthur Okowa, anointed and adopted Olorogun Gbagi, as his second son to take over from Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, as his last wish before he bowed to the cold hands of death.
According to the Biblical saying ‘the stone which the builder rejected has become the Chief Cornerstone”, as various scriptures have equally confirmed this. In Isaiah 28:16 says: “Therefore thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone. A costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed.
Psalm 118:22, says “The stone which the builders rejected. Has become the chief corner stone.
For this is contained in Scripture:
“Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner stone,
And he who believes in Him will not be disappointed.” in the Books if Acts 4:11, God said: “He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief corner stone”.
With the above, it is time for Deltans to take their destinies in their hands by voting wisely for Gbagi, come 2023.
