National Vice chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) South-south, Elder Fred Owhotorofa, has called on Deltans to vote for the governorship candidate of the party in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, for free education, quality healthcare delivery and gainful employment that have eluded the state.
He maintained that the former minister of State for education, who is known for his progressive mind, is capable of alleviating the sufferings Deltans have been plagued with by bad governance.
He stated this at Oleh, the administrative headquarter of Isoko south local government area of the state when Gbagi in company of the Deputy Governor, Chief Mrs. Oshilim Ishioma Rosemary, the National and State leadership of the party received thousands of decampees from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) recently.
While noting that the SDP remains the oldest political party in Nigeria, Elder Owhotorofa, disclosed that the National Republican Convention (NRC) which was created alongside with SDP has since gone into extinction pointing out that the SDP which is still alive and waxing stronger is moving to take over power come 2023.
Said he: “Once upon a time, there was SDP and NRC. The NRC has gone into extinct but the Social Democratic Party is still alive and waxing stronger and moving forward to take over government and deliver the real dividends of democracy, which is progress.
“Gbagi will deliver the progress in Delta State. SDP is on records and that was how Olorogun Felix Ibru, a former governor of Delta State and MKO Abiola had the freest and more widely accepted democratically conducted election in Delta State and the country.
“They were produced on the platform of SDP because SDP means, substance, progress. SDP means whatever will make life more meaningful for our people and Nigerians.
“SDP means an end to suffering, poverty alleviation, it will enthrone functional education, solid and sustainable health delivery, gainful employment for the teeming youths and infrastructural development.
Speaking further, he said, “The same party is the one that is bringing the only one and indomitable Kenneth Gbagi, in him there shall be functional education, progress, Gbagi will change the narrative. That is the direction we are going”, just as he charged them not to make no mistakes.
“Vote for Gbagi, that is the way to go and defend your votes”, he added.
