The Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DCTDA) has intensified its environmental sanitation efforts, undertaking a series of decisive actions aimed at restoring cleanliness and order across Asaba.

During a coordinated operation carried out on Friday and Saturday, the Agency’s Environment Unit cleared heavily blocked drainage channels along Ibusa Road, particularly around the Magistrate Court axis.

The intervention addressed persistent environmental challenges in the area while mitigating the risk of flooding.

The exercise continued on Saturday with a robust enforcement and sensitisation drive focused on curbing street trading and dismantling illegal and makeshift structures obstructing pedestrian walkways and road setbacks.

The initiative underscores the Agency’s firm stance against environmental infractions and urban disorder.

Speaking on the development, the Director General of the Agency reaffirmed that the commitment to maintaining a clean Capital Territory remains unwavering.

He emphasised that environmental sanitation is vital to public health, safety, and the overall image of Asaba as a fast-growing modern city, urging residents and traders to cooperate with authorities.

Providing leadership on the field, the Head of Environment, Isaac Nwosu, alongside his team, maintained a visible presence throughout the operations, reflecting strong dedication to enforcing environmental standards.

Mr. Nwosu reiterated that the Agency will sustain its momentum through continuous monitoring, strict enforcement, and ongoing public awareness campaigns aimed at fostering compliance.

Residents have been called upon to adhere to environmental regulations and actively support the Agency’s vision of a cleaner, healthier, and more orderly Asaba
