The General Manager of Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) Warri operator of Delta Rainbow Television, (DRTV) and Melody FM, Warri, Pastor Malcolm Oteri has motivated workers of the establishment with awards of excellence in order to encourage them to put in more of their best.
Pastor Oteri while welcoming staff and commending them for their effort in making sure the establishment live up to expectation, praised the management team for their support.
While congratulating staff of DBS, he said management appreciate them especially those who have received awards, adding that they have gone extra mile to put in their best by displaying high level of responsibility.
The DBS Warri General Manager noted that discipline, dedication and motivation are the key to enhancing promotion and service delivery.
The GM charged staff to avoid quarrel among themselves, assuring that he would ensure things are properly done as better days are ahead for more awards to deserving staff.
Matthew Onakpoma from the Information Technology Centre (ICT) Department, received an award of excellence as the overall Best Staff of the year 2020, Linus Chima, Deputy General Manager News/Current Affairs Department was presented with an award of excellence as the Best Reporter of the year 2020, John Glover received an award of excellence as the best staff of News/Current Affairs Department, John Chukwuma was also awarded as the Best Staff Programmes Department others are Wilson Onose – Manager Administration Department- Best Administration Staff 2020, Gladys Edema- Best Finance/Account Department staff, Abraham Egede – Best Engineering Staff 2020 and ESE Pius Oghoghorie – Best Newscaster/Presenter 2020.
Chairman of NUJ DBS Warri, Comrade Sonia Unobunjo and his RATTAWU counterpart commended DBS Warri General Manager as well as the management team for the award, appealing to the management to increase the award scope to embrace more other departments, even as they acknowledged the motivation it would bring onboard to enable more best time exacted at work for more productivity.
The two union chairmen congratulated the awardees, saying it would spur them to do more for the growth of the media outfit.
