In a move that underscores his expanding public service profile, High Chief Festus Ahon, Chief Press Secretary (CPS),to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has been sworn in as a Justice of the Peace (JP) by the Delta State Government.

Olorogun Ahon was inducted alongside 65 others in a ceremony organised by the State Ministry of Justice and held at High Court 1, Ughelli, in Ughelli North Local Government Area.

The oath was administered by Justice M. Gesikeme, who charged the newly sworn-in JPs to uphold peace and promote harmony within their respective communities.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the ceremony, Chief Ahon expressed gratitude to God for the honour bestowed on him and pledged to continue contributing meaningfully to society.

He also appreciated Governor Oborevwori for the recognition and added responsibility, assuring that he would not misuse the privilege but would remain committed to the promotion of peace and justice.

Sir Ahon described the confidence reposed in him as a strong morale booster, noting that he would work collaboratively with other well-meaning community leaders to sustain peace and order.

He added that strengthening community stability would help attract greater government presence and development to the grassroots.
