Vigilante Group Calls For Support, As Suspected Buglars Appear In Court

Members of a formidable local security group known as Agbor Gha-Ihun, in Ika south local government area of Delta State, has called for maximum cooperation from members of the public to enable them discharge their duties effectively.

The call was made by the Chairman of the group who doubles as Special Assistant to the state governor on Security Matters, Comr. Monday Kiyem, while frowning at an attempt made by an indigene to bail the suspects who allegedly burgled churches and stole musical equipment in Agbor.

Comr. Kiyem described the attempt as unpatriotic and an attempt to make the security group look unserious before the public.

He said the development called for urgent attention as such act could douse their morale in combating crime.

“We the members of Agbor Gha-Ihun are not happy with this unholy attitude. We made effort to apprehend suspects and hand them over to the police to face the wrath of the law. Sadly, an indigene went behind us to bail the suspect(s).

“When we got to the court, we expected to see three suspects that we apprehended but to our surprise, we saw only two been brought to the court. 

“It was when we started questioning the whereabout of the third person, that he was brought out to joined his colleagues at the court room.

“We thanked the Chief Magistrate for cautioning the person involved,” Kiyem added.

Speaking further, Kiyem used the medium to also solicit for financial support among others assistance to encourage the group in their selfless service to their fatherland.

Meanwhile, the suspects whose names includes Odafi Bright Favour (28), Adaye Yusuf (31) and Chibuzor Temple (34), were on Thursday, September 24, 2020, arraigned before the Chief Magistrate Grade A Court, located at Alihami in Agbor before His worship, Anene ESQ.

They were in a suit with Charge No. Ma/103C/2020 issued four count charges such as conspiracy, felony, burglary and stealing which were an offence punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code, Cap C21, Vol. I laws of Delta State 2006.

The musical equipments stolen at Victorious Army Ministry and Anglican Cathedral both in Agbor on 28th of August, 2020, were valued at N550, 000 and N400, 000 respectively.

However, the suspects pleaded guilty on all the four count charges while the case was adjoined to 29th of September, 2020 for sentencing.
