Two kidnapped Victims Killed, Six Others Rescued In Delta Community

A passenger and a driver that suffered from bullet wounds from kidnappers have been confirmed dead on admission on arrival at an undisclosed hospital whilewas rushed to the hospital while their corpses have been deposited also in an undisclosed mortuary by the police.

Also, six passengers abducted by bandits have been successfully rescued by a combine team of police, military and local vigilante in Orerokpe Community, Okpe local government area of Delta State.

Trouble started on 3rd April 2021, when the hoodlums armed with AK 47 rifles at Okutolo Warri-Sapele road, attacked a Toyota Sienna Bus with REG.NO. BWR 301 SU.

A press statement on April 5th 2021, by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, disclosed that the hoodlums shot and injured the driver and a woman but dragged other passengers into the bush.

According to the image maker, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Orerokpe Division, SP Ojo Oluwole who swiftly mobilized patrol teams, assisted by military patrol team to the scene and they went after the kidnappers into the forest.

Said he: “The men did not relent as they gave the kidnappers a hot chase, the hoodlums who could no longer withstand the pressure quickly abandon the kidnapped victims and fled.

“The patrol teams successfully  rescued the six kidnapped passengers which includes Edoma Rita, Evelyn Chinwekwe, Believe Omoruyi, Linus Kojo, Idolo Christina ‘and Ojemudia Esther.

“Expended shells of 7.62, 39mm ammunition were recovered from the scene. Manhunt for the arrest of the hoodlums is ongoing while the Commissioner of police is appealing to members of the public to avail the police with any useful information that will help to arrest these hoodlums”.

Similarly, on 4th April 2021, police surveillance team of Orogun Division assisted by anti-cult group raided a notorious cult hideout at small market junction orogun and apprehended three suspected members of arrow Barger confraternity Cult group.

The Suspects are Aworo Efe 25 years old, Ogene Oghenedoro Obiobor, 28years old and one Great whose surname is yet unknown  AKAcommunity 30 years old.

The PPRO revealed that the teams were attacked by the cultists but  for the resilience by the surveillance team, the cultist were over powered, saying that “they are currently been intoragted and have given information to the police that will lead to the arrest of other gang members.

“Parent and guardian are therefore advised to look after their wards and do all they can to discourage them from participating in cultism as this is the mother of virtually all crimes in the country today”.
