Suspected Ritualist Apprehended In Delta

Delta State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man simply identified as Matthew for being in possession of personal items belonging to the proprietor, Stop Over Hotel, along Delta Labour Agency (DLA), Road Mr. Victor Odiachi and his wife.

The suspect who purportedly arrived the hotel in clutches, claiming that he hails from Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha south local government area of the state, said he came to the State capital, Asaba, for medical attention.

A hotel room was said to have been assigned to him to enable pass the night before returning home.

It was reliably learnt that trouble started at about 3:00am when the owner of the hotel woke up to pick his phones in the sitting room when he observed that his two phones were missing and were put off.

According to information gathered, he went to the flower vase where he keeps his car keys only to meet another shocker as the keys have developed wings.

Worried by the development, he in company of his wife went to Mr. Matthew’s room where the vehicle key was found upon enquiry as Matthew told them that he found the key on the floor.

Miffed by the attitude of Mr. Matthew, the wife decided to go a step further by pulling up the mattress but not without resistance from Mr. Matthew but he was overpowered.

It was gathered that the attempt of the wife yielded results as a wrapper tied under the mattress was discovered containing his three pants, the wife’s bra, wrapper and gate key wrapped in a black cellophane.

It was learnt that the attempt of the suspect to cover up his atrocities with an Alleged N10, 000 bribe, met brickwalls.

It was learnt that officers from ‘A’ Division Police Station, Asaba, came and took him to the station after a call was put across to the police control room.

At press time, calls put across to the cellphone of the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, were not replied.
