The worse is yet to be heard of a cleric, simply identified as Pastor Usundu, who allegedly stole a phone while in the Holy City of Jerusalem for Pilgrimage.
It was gathered that the clergyman, from Ika Northeast local government area of Delta State, was captured by the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV, also known as video surveillance, in a restaurant.
The situation brought humiliation to the entire body of Christ, (Christians) in the state for a reverend gentleman who embarked on a holy mission to allow himself to be used by the Devil.
According to fillers, pilgrims expressed sadness, blaming the State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, who purportedly manipulated the process for cronies, leading to unguarded hours.
It was learnt that out of the total number of 300 pilgrims who were airlifted for the journey in Israel, only 80 forms were released to the Board as allegedly directed by the governor.
It was gathered that the remaining 220 slots were purportedly distributed to associates of the governor supervised by one Apostle Christopher Chuks Eruemulor, of Calvary Bread of Life Ministry, aka Calvary Chapel, which produced Pastor Usundu, as one of the Pilgrims who brought disdain to the body of Christ.
It was gathered that Apostle Eruemulor, Okowa’s secret seer, is been investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged money laundering.
A source who spoke to The Story, said clerics regretted supporting Okowa’s 2015 ambition haven turned a “traitor”, as many of the clerics including pastors and Bishops said they were not ready to fall for his ‘untrustworthiness’, in 2023.
“One of the major issues that have provoked bodies of religious leaders in the state remains that Okowa rejected genuine pastors, and Christians who gathered and prayed for him in 2015 for a so-called prophet, Apostle Eruemulor who did not vote nor have any knowledge of what happened in 2015 for the emergence of Okowa”.
It was learnt that Pastor Usundu, was Eruemulor’s candidate who was given a slot for the pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
It was learnt that the situation caused embarrassment after Pastor Usundu allegedly denied knowledge of the missing phone which belongs to an Israeli.
It was alleged that Okowa nominated the chairman of the State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board against the law establishing the Board, while the Secretary of the Board, was allegedly nominated by Eruemulor.
It was gathered that on receipt of the information of the stolen phone, the governor and others were upset particularly when the CCTV footage was played by an Israeli in that restaurant which captured the act.
At press time, efforts to speak with the Chairman of the Board, Most Rev. Cyril Odutemu, for comment was unsuccessful.
