Udeh, an indigene of Obinagu Village, Udi local government area of the state on 8th February 2021, purportedly had carnal knowledge of the little girl.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Mohammed Aliyu, made the disclosure while briefing newsmen on Thursday 11th February 2021 at the State Police Command.
According to the Police boss, “At about 1000hrs, Operatives attached to Ezinze Police Division arrested the above-named suspect for allegedly defiling a-five (5) year old girl. The little girl was rescued and rushed to the hospital, where medical examination and report shows that the suspect had carnal knowledge of her”.
He disclosed that the suspect confessed to the crime and would be charged to court for the alleged offence.
Similarly, Aliyu said one Kenechukwu Longinus, with the nickname “Hausa”, 32 years and Kosisochukwu Orjielo, a.k.a Bomba, 25 years old of Eke Village in Udi and Neke-Agu Village, Isi-Uzo local government areas of the state were nabbed for alleged conspiracy, armed robbery and car snatching.
“On 04/02/2021 at about 1730hrs Kenechukwu Longinus (a.k.a. Hausa) was intercepted and arrested by Operatives attached to Abakpa Police Divisin while on Stop and Search duty.
“His arrest is as a result of the Operatives suspecting the unregistered Ash-coloured Toyota Camry 2.4 Model car he was driving to have been stolen. He made confessional statements that led to the arrest of the second suspect and leader of the gang, Kosisochukwu Orjielo (a.k.a Bomba) on the same date at about 2130hrs.
“Discreet investigation is ongoing to arrest and bring other fleeing members of the gang to book”, Aliyu, assured.
In another development, one Ebenezer Chidozie, 34 years, of Old Artisan, Ogui-Nike, Enugu was arrested on 2nd February 2021 by operatives attached to Uwani Police Division and recovered a white-coloured Toyota Camry 2.2 Model Car with Reg. Number: KWL 564 AG along Enugu/Port-Harcourt Expressway.
“His arrest is as a result of immediate report made at the Station that the suspect and others at large snatched the said car from the owner at gunpoint on 1st February 2021, along Nise Street, Enugu.
“Discreet investigation is ongoing to arrest and bring the fleeing suspects to book”, be said.
In same vein, one Ikechukwu Ukpo, 32 years, of Ohaukwu local government area, Ebonyi State and Ibrahim Mohammed 21 years, of Bayo local government area of Borno State were arrested over alleged armed conspiracy and robbery of a tricycle.
“The suspects were arrested by operatives attached to Ogui Police Division on 6th and 7th of February 2021, following a report made at the Division that a Bajaj Tricycle (Keke Napep), Yellow in colour with Registration Number: ENU 629 VL was stolen from where it was parked in the Secretariat Quarters.
“The Tricycle has been recovered, while the suspects will be charged to Court of Law once investigation is completed.
