Facts have emerged that the former Attorney-General cum governorship hopeful in Delta State, Peter Mrakpor, has been profiled to face legal action over forgery and perjury.

This is coming on the heels of a petition forwarded to the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), by one Mr. Mike Chukwuka N. which indicted Mrakpor, of several forgery and professional misconducts.

The petition however necessitated some investigations surrounding Mrakpor while he held sway as the Attorney- General of the state.

Checks revealed that Mrakpor, facilitated a petition and affidavit from the Ministry of Justice and submitted same through some staff of the ministry to obtain a “Fake warrant of arrest” on the former minister of education and prominent governorship aspirant in the state, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi.

Mrakpor, a governorship aspirant failed in his efforts to jump off the hooks, deny his crimes and implicating others after an outright denial of the affidavit on oath by the staff of the ministry.

It was learnt that the staff of the ministry denied knowledge of the origin of the affidavit.

This further exposed Mrakpor who foist the failed warrant of arrest on Gbagi with forged documents and a perjurious affidavit to his hidden crimes.

In a swift reaction, the former Commissioner of Police, in the State now Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, Hafiz Inuwa who was not left out of the hook distant himself from the warrant of arrest that was handed down to him with false claims that they were court orders.

It was gathered that he denied requesting, apply or instruct any known complaint to get a warrant to arrest on Gbagi.

“The whole setups were politically motivated to de-market, kill the popularity and acceptance of Olorogun Gbagi, a blameless man seeking to be Governor of Delta State in 2023”.

According to a judgement delivered on the 8th of March 2022, by Justice Taiwo O. Taiwo, of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, the Applicant avers that the 4th Respondent directed the 2nd and 3rd Respondents to investigate him on alleged violation of violence against person’s bill of Delta State retrospectively, which was passed into law on the 7th day of October 2020, a fake law produced by Mrakpor and backdated for the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to sign.

He backdated it to accommodate his orchestrated plan and machination to blackmail Gbagi with false claims of their girlfriends whom they planted in his workplace alleging that they were stripped naked.
