The Delta Police Command has made significant strides in combating crime in the region, successfully arresting ten suspected kidnappers and armed robbers while seizing illegal firearms and a luxury vehicle in two coordinated operations.
On January 20, 2026, the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime Squad (SAKCCS), acting on credible intelligence, apprehended key suspects linked to a notorious kidnapping and armed robbery syndicate in the Obinoba and surrounding areas.
The operation resulted in the recovery of a locally fabricated Beretta-style pistol with live ammunition, a Mercedes-Benz GLK, and various dangerous weapons and substances.
In a separate operation on January 22, police operatives targeted a cultists’ hideout in Amai Community, leading to the arrest of five individuals and the discovery of additional illegal weapons and drugs.
Commissioner of Police Aina Adesola praised the professionalism of the operatives and emphasized the commitment to eradicating criminal activities in Delta State.
Residents are encouraged to maintain vigilance and provide police with timely information to support ongoing efforts for a safer community.
