Delta Governorship Hopeful Appears In Court For Five Counts Charge

The Delta state police has arraigned Chief Kenneth Gbagi, Chief Executive Officer , (CEO), of signatious Hotel, PTI, Effurun, on five counts charge of Armed robbery, kidnapping, deprivation of liberty, torture and cyber stalking, in court with case file No: CR203/2020 and Charge No: CMA/ 382c/ 2020. 

He was said to have stripped three women including a house wife and one male Naked on the 17th and 18th of September, 2020 for alleged theft.

His offence is contrary to conspiracy to commit to a felony to wit: armed robbery, punishable under Section 1(2)(a) of Robbery and firearms Act 2004( as amended)

Conspiracy to commit a felony, torture, to wit: kidnapping, contrary to section 3(1)(d) and punishable under section 4(1) of the Delta state Anti-kidnaping law 2016.

Conspiracy to commit to a felony to wit: cyber stalking, punishable under section 24(a) deprivation of cyber crime (prohibition prevention etc) Act, 2015.

According to the chief magistrate Court Asaba, which has undertaken a painstakingly review of Gbagi’s case file inclusive statements obtained from the witnesses he strip naked in his hotel office for public viewing and after reviewing the cautionary statements of the two suspects arrested, one Victoria Ogidiagba female who is currently at Agbor prison and Ikechukwu Kingsley Ndukwu male presently at Ogwashi-uku correctional center, they all confessed of Gbagi ill treatment.

The witnesses in their various statements identify the two suspects arrested that they are present.

“The information disclosing the offences of Gbagi will be filed immediately at the high court of Justice Delta to commence their prosecution.

According to the reports and facts from the case file, shows that the name, Chief Kenneth Gbagi featured prominently in the matter. 

The statement from the witnesses identify him as participating personally in the ordeal.

Meanwhile, the statements from the two suspects arrested placed Chief Kenneth Gbagi as been present during the course of these matter and an active participant.

In the course of interrogation Chief Kenneth Gbagi personally flogged, Archibong Precious, a married woman with a whip, ordered his police men attached to him to beat up Ephraim Victoria which they did and then directs his account officer one (Mr. Success) and Victoria Ogidiagba to withdraw all the monies in the victims various accounts, amount withdrawn were, N176, 500, N111, 000 and N5, 000 respectively.

After then paraded the victims to walk naked in the hotel premises publicly for customers viewing and staff after he had compel them at gun point to write statements in his office. 

The witnesses statement confirmed that Gbagi personally took pictures of victims nakedness in his mobile phone and as well make video recording of the victims.

According to one of the witnesses, Ephraim Victor that he was kidnapped by Gbagi on the 17th September 2020 to his home town (Oginibo) locked up inside his car booth where he was held hostage overnight against his will and strip naked to his under wears, the following day he was taken back to signatious hotel to parade him with 3 others naked in full glare of spectators, his children, passersby, staff and customers videoing and others taking pictures of their nakedness.

The police were ordered to arrest the following persons : Egba Gbagi ( Son), Mr. Success (account officer, Signatious hotel) and all polices details attached to Chief Kenneth Gbagi on the 17th and 18th of September, 2020.
