OSOGBO — No fewer than 100 persons allegedly brought into Osun State to participate in the ongoing governorship election have reportedly been arrested with newly issued Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
The suspected voters were said to have been found at the residence of Hon. Abiola Ibrahim, where they were allegedly being accommodated ahead of the election.
According to reports, the individuals were allegedly mobilised from outside the state by a member of the Accord Party and provided with new PVCs to enable them participate in the poll.
The development has raised concerns over alleged attempts to manipulate the electoral process through the movement of voters into the state.
Security operatives are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the arrests and establish the identities of those behind the alleged mobilisation.
The arrests come as voters across Osun State head to polling units to elect the next governor of the state.
