In a sweeping enforcement move against alleged vice and exploitation, the Delta State Government has ordered the immediate sealing of the Bolero Hotel and Nightclub in Agbor over claims the facility was being used for underage prostitution and illicit drug activities.

The enforcement action came pursuant to an order of the Delta State High Court sitting in the Agbor Judicial Division of Ika South Local Government Area, issued on February 10, 2026.

Court documents indicate that one Orewa Ekene, trading as Bolero Concepts, was arraigned before the court on a six-count charge bordering on trafficking in persons, contrary to Section 17(c) of the Delta State Human Trafficking (Prohibition) Law, 2024, in Charge No. AG/1C/2026: Delta State v. Orewa Ekene.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges and was subsequently remanded at the Agbor Custodial Centre.

The matter has been adjourned to March 3, 2026, for hearing.

During the proceedings, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice,  Ekemejero Ohwovoriole (SAN), applied for an order to freeze and seal the Bolero Hotel and Nightclub, citing intelligence that the premises were being used for criminal activities involving minors and illicit substances.

In a ruling delivered on February 11, 2026, the court granted the application, ordering the immediate sealing of the facility pending the hearing of the motion on notice scheduled for March 3, 2026.

The latest action comes amid an intensified statewide crackdown. In December 2025, the Delta State Government similarly sealed the Happy Home Children Orphanage in Okwe over alleged child trafficking offences perpetrated under the guise of operating an orphanage.

Observers say the move underscores the state government’s increasingly hardline posture against human trafficking, underage exploitation, and drug-related crimes, with authorities signalling that more enforcement actions may follow.
