The Governor’s delegation was led by Hon. Eche Ezeibe, the transition Chairman of Aguata local government.
Also in the entourage are Senior Comrade Chris Azor, Coordinator, Civil Society Organizations in Anambra state, Nkwado Chukwuka Onwughalu (1st Vice President ASATU Youth wing/Coordinator ASATU Youth WING Anambra South).
Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu (Leader, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Youth Wing Anambra State), Hon. Ferguson Okpara (Executive Assistant to the Governor on Non-indigenes in Anambra State), and Hon. Chigozie Nweke (President, Non-indigenes Anambra State).
The Delegation on arriving Igboukwu met with the leadership of Ebonyi Indigenes Welfare Associations led by the President General, Mr. Felix Nwaofia, and the Nwogha family.
Hon. Eche Ezeibe passed on the condolence message of Governor Willie Obiano who regretted the ugly incidents that led to the death of late Mr. Chidiebere Nwogha, a native of Ikwo in Ebonyi State.
He assured them of Anambra state government’s commitment to ensuring that the deceased gets Justice.
He presented a cash sum of N500, 000 five hundred thousand Naira) to the wife of the deceased, Mrs. Chinenye Nwogha and her two kids for their upkeep and assured that government would always support them.
The family thanked and appreciated Governor Obiano for his fatherly love towards the family, especially the prompt and quick response to the unfortunate situation.
Members of Ebonyi Welfare Association (Aguata Chapter), also thanked Governor Obiano and pledged on behalf of Ebonyi indigenes in Anambra state to desist forthwith from any act capable of sabotaging the stability and peace they enjoy in the state.
Mr. Nwaofia called on Ebonyi indigenes living in Anambra state to go about their respective business activities and be law abiding.
The delegation also visited the family of late Izuchukwu Alaka, an indigene of Ikwo in Ebonyi State, who resides in Ogboji, Orumba South local government who was killed at Ekwulobia.
Hon. Ezeibe having passed on the Governor Obiano’s condolence message also presented a cash of N500, 000 (Five hundred thousand naira) to the wife of the deceased, Mrs. Eucharia Alaka.
He said that government would also support the family with the burial arrangements and other needs.
The family expressed gratitude to the Governor Obiano and pledged to support the efforts of the state government and the security agencies to promote and sustain the existing peace in Anambra state.
It would be recall that a motorcyclist another were killed at Igboukwu and Ekwulobia, axis of the state.
