The Federal Government has approved the construction of a new refinery in Imode Town, Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State.
The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority granted the license to MRO Energy Limited for a 10,000 Barrels Per Stream Day (BPSD) refinery.
This approval follows a similar move made two months ago, when the authority issued a license to Process Design and Development Limited for a 27,000 BPSD refinery in Gombe State.
The new refinery will boost Nigeria’s refining capacity, bringing the total number of modular and regular refineries in the country to 11.
Engr. Farouk Ahmed, the Authority Chief Executive, officially presented the license to MRO Energy Limited, marking a significant step in the country’s energy sector.
